Goldins are characterised by their olive-green skin, bulbous noses, and long tails. They have lived within their underground city in the Valley of Gold for millennia.
Some may say, “Greedy Goldins love their gold”, but there is far more depth to these humanoids. Small and bucktoothed, Robblins are humanoids native to the forests surrounding Maille. These scrawny scavengers are often seen wearing ratty clothing and wielding improvised weapons cobbled together from scraps they find in the forest. Such traits set them apart from their southern relatives, the Skoblins of Griffondell, who take to the skies atop large black birds of prey called the Mevari.
Many mistakenly believe Robblins to be slow-witted monsters that mindlessly attack and steal from travellers, but they are actually remarkably cunning and resourceful scavengers.
Those who have actually traversed Robblin-inhabited wilderness know enough to be mindful of their possessions, as anything dropped or left unattended for even a minute is almost certain to be claimed by a passing Robblin. Postknight Trainees or full-fledged Postknights may be able to help retrieve the items, but wise travellers know better than to tempt fate.
Robblins apply their scavenging skills to building their makeshift homes and villages, passing this mastery down from one generation to the next. However, their generosity stops when it comes to their personal possessions, which they squabble over and steal—then steal back—repeatedly, much like toddlers fighting over a favourite toy.
Robblins are more than the slow-witted monsters many paint them to be. These crafty scavengers are masters at repurposing scraps into clothes, weapons, armour, shelter, and even deadly traps.
